The Cost Of A Tidal Barrier In Cork Harbour Has Been Over-Estimated By Over €200 Million

That's according to the Save Cork City group who are renewing calls for the barrier to be built instead of raising the height of quay walls following a review into a report on the cost of the barrier.
The review carried out by Delft University in the Netherlands highlighted mistakes in the original report which doubled the cost of the proposed barrier at Little Island.
Speaking to RedFM News, John Hegarty from Save Cork City says the mistakes made in the original report were significant:
