The Cost Of Restocking Carp At The Lough Could Rise To Over €200,000

That's according to the secretary of the Cork Carp Anglers Club.

The Irish Examiner reports that over 750 carp have now died at the Lough while over 200 have died at the privately owned Belvelly fishery near Cobh.

The outbreak which has almost wiped out the entire population of carp at the Lough has been confirmed as carp edema.

Angling has been suspended at the Lough and Belvelly as well as at Inniscarra and Carrigadrohid reservoirs.
