Arlene Foster claims that a tweet by him in December 2019 was an "attack" on her marriage


Northern Ireland's first minister has told a court an unfounded allegation she was having an affair with a close protection officer was "very distressing".

Arlene Foster's been giving evidence in a High Court libel hearing about a tweet from Christian Jessen - best known for his role on the 'Embarrassing Bodies' TV show.

The DUP leader  is suing TV presenter Dr Christian Jessen for defamation, saying he made an "attack" on her marriage.

On 23 December 2019, Dr Jessen tweeted an allegation that Mrs Foster had been having an extra-marital affair.
The post remained online until Dr Jessen deleted it on 7 January 2020.
