The Green Party Says The Planned Flood Defence Plans Along Morrison's Quay Are Threatening The City's Character

There is also a proposed redesign of Morrison's Island
The proposed flood defence scheme consists of building concrete walls instead of traditional stone wall quays between Parliament Bridge and Parnell Bridge.
The stand-a-lone project, which is due to be carried out by the City Council is separate from the 140 million euro flood defence plans that form the Lower Lee Flood Relief Scheme.
A major upgrade to Morrison's Island is also in the pipeline, with new and improved pedestrian walkways, open plazas, and reduced parking zones.
Speaking to RedFM News, the Green Party's Dan Boyle wants a special meeting to be held at City Hall to discuss alternatives to the present plan:
