The increase in the Direct Provision allowance has been branded insulting to the 657 people living in direct provision in Cork

Anti-deportation Ireland have hit out at the €2.50 increase which will see the allowance of people living in direct provision increased from €19.10 each week
The group say the increase is far below the recommendations of the 'McMahon Working Group' who called for €38.74 for adults.
A number of protests were mounted in Cork in 2014 by residents who were calling for an end to the system, a decision on their citizenship applications, and the freedom to work and study.
Speaking to RedFM News Joe Moore of anti-deportation Ireland says conditions haven't improved for residents in Cork direct provision centres.
