The Irish Association Of Adventure Tourism Says It Has Lost A Member A Week, Every Week This Year

It's because the cost of insurance premiums are increasing

A Cork adventure centre is the latest to speak out about the ongoing difficulties for Irish adventure tourism and they say for the first time ever they'll be forced to close for the winter unless they can secure reasonable insurance. 

Fota Adventure Centre's current provider LeisureInsure has pulled out of the Irish market, and so far the other two quotes they have received represent a 445% increase and a 335% on last year's premium.

The centre says it's not the only facility of its kind that's struggling to get insurance with many facing other now facing complete closure. 

Among those attracted to the centre for summer camps, corporate team building and sports psychology team development are the likes of London Irish, Aberdeen, Preston North End, All Ireland Champions, Ireland's Fittest Family and top executives from international companies.
