The Irish Medical Organisation hits out at the Government

The organisation says the Government's response to overcrowding in our hospitals is too little too late

The Irish Medical Organisation described the Government's the proposed increase in bed numbers of 63 as an "insult".

Health Minister Simon Harris met with the Emergency Department Taskforce yesterday to discuss measures to reduce the number of people on trolleys. 

It's after the number of people on trolleys this week reached a record high of over 600. 

The crisis in Cork saw patients being redirected from CUH and MUH to the Mater Private Hospital and the Bons Secours in the last week.

President of the IMO Dr. John Duddy says the crisis will only get worse if adequate action isn't taken.
