The Lord Mayor of the City says the Office of Public Works are looking into whether they can incorporate repairs to the weir in 
Ballincollig into the Lower Lee Flood Relief scheme. 

Cllr Colm Kelleher met with Minister of State Patrick O'Donovan yesterday at Ballincollig Regional Park to discuss progress on the project. 

The weir collapsed in 2014 and their have been calls to repair it since then - due to the dangers posed by the currents following the collapse.

Three quarters of the HSE's computer servers have now been unlocked, after the recent cyber attack. 

The HSE will also tell an Oireachtas committee today 70% of computer devices are now available again. 

But it's warning it will take months before systems are fully restored - and the attack will have 'human costs'.

Children as young as 12 are drinking in Cork city streets.

Garda chief Chief Superintendent Barry McPolin has said, warning that parents need to wake up.

The Echo Reports Chief Superintendent McPolin told the Joint Policing Committee meeting that while the numbers gathering in certain areas of the city has reduced with the easing of restrictions, there has been a number of weekends with children as young as 12 drinking in the city until 1am.

Over 3.6 million Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in Ireland. 

The HSE says more than 2.3 million people have received one dose, and 1.3 million have got two jabs. 

GPs have administered nearly 1.5 million shots, and 39 vaccination centres are also in place.
