Cork City and County Council are on high alert for flooding this morning following heavy rain overnight. 

An orange rainfall warning is in place for Cork until 9pm with up to 80 millimetres forecast in places.

Sand and gel bags are available from the City Council Depot at Anglesea Terrace and Tramore Valley Civic Amenity Site from 8am this morning

Gardaí across Cork are warning motorists to use extreme caution on the road this morning. 

There are reports of excess surface water and high winds across the city and county.

Level 5 restrictions will be extended until April 5th, with construction remaining shut for another month. 

Last night the cabinet sub-committee on COVID agreed to the extension, with sign-off expected from the full Cabinet this afternoon.
