Cork woman, Una Ring from Youghal, made an emotional appeal on The Late Late Show last night, as she campaigns for the government to introduce specific stalking legislation.

She and Eve McDowell from Galway were both subjected to horrific stalking campaigns by men they barely knew. They have teamed up with the Sexual Violence Centre Cork for the campaign, and have launched a website stalking.ie offering information and support to those in a similar situation.

The final day of a Bord Pleanála’s hearing into a proposed 179 unit housing development at Bessborough in Blackrock took place yesterday. It heard submissions from sides both opposed and in favour of the development. A decision is due before the end of May.

An 18 year old man is due in court in the North this morning in connection with child abduction. He was charged last night and is before Belfast Magistrates Court later. 

In a statement, the PSNI says the charges are in relation to a CRI Alert issued by the Gardaí during the week.
