A rally is taking place this lunchtime over concerns about a religious ethos in the new National Maternity Hospital.

The Campaign-Against-Church-Ownership-of-Women's-Healthcare is holding the protest outside the Dail at 1 o'clock. 

The Government says it wants to purchase the site on which it will be built, but the St Vincent's Hospital Group says it won't part with the land.

Former US police officer Derek Chauvinis beginning a 22-and-a-half year sentence for murdering George Floyd in Minneapolis last year.

The 45-year-old was convicted in April, in a case that made global headlines and sparked protests worldwide.

The punishment fell short of the 30 years that prosecutors had pushed for.
