The Universal Social Charge needs to be cut in the budget, according to Fianna Fáil. 

They want a drop in the 4.75 per cent rate of tax that everyone earning between 19 and 70 thousand euro is charged. 

It will likely form part of a modest tax package in next Tuesday's budget. 

Fianna Fáil's Finance Spokesperson Michael McGrath also says the rates of income tax need to change:
