The winner of this years Irish Examiner's Cork City Marathon has crossed the finish line

It's the first time the marathon took place on a Sunday and Cork's RedFM are media partners to the event

American Chris Moko made it to the end of the 26.2 mile route in a time of 2 hours, 26 minutes and 43 seconds.

While Cork's Jill Hodgins won the female race at a time of 2 hours, 48 minutes and 18 seconds.

It's estimated over 10,000 people took part today and several thousand more are believed to have descended to the streets of Cork in support.

Speaking to RedFM News this woman came out in support today.
