That's how trade union Mandate has described the news that Debenhams Irish operations are set to go into liquidation
Employees at the company's 11 Irish stores - including two here in Cork - are said to be devastated and shocked by the news that the shops are not expected to re-open in Ireland
RedFM News has been contacted by a number of staff members in Cork who say they were informed earlier that Debenhams will not be reopening the stores when the Covid 19 restrictions are lifted.
