There Are Calls For A Structural Review To Be Carried Out On Schools Built By A Northern Construction Company

Western Building Systems have built a number of schools in Cork
It follows a secondary school in Balbriggan Co. Dublin having to close one of its buildings after it was deemed too dangerous to use.
Western Building Systems have built a number of schools in Cork, including St. Colmans National School Macroom, Cara Junior School Glanmire, Carrigaline Educate Together National School, and Scoil Phadraig Naofa in Rochestown.
31 schools built by Western Building Systems are being audited after fire safety concerns were raised.
Serious structural issues were discovered at Ardgillan Community College while the fire safety checks were being carried out.
Fianna Fail Education Spokesperson Thomas Byrne says all other schools involved must be checked.
