Thomas Kent to be given full State funeral
His remains were exhumed from Cork Prison in June.
One of the executed leaders of the 1916 Rising is to be given a full State funeral.
Thomas Kent was killed in May 1916 in Cork - and is one of only two Rising leaders to have been killed outside of Dublin.
His remains were exhumed from Cork Prison in June - and formally identified after DNA testing.
After consulting with his family - the Government says a full State Funeral will take place next month in Castlelyons.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny says he's 'very glad' to offer the honour to Thomas Kent describing him as one of many young men who paid 'the ultimate sacrifice' in the pursuit of Irish freedom.
