Thomas Martens to ask to leave jail due to coronavirus

A former FBI agent convicted of murdering a Limerick man will today ask to be released from prison because of the coronavirus.

Thomas Martens and his daughter, Molly, were found guilty of the second-degree murder of Jason Corbett in the US in 2017.

They won an appeal against their conviction and are awaiting a retrial, but remain in prison in North Carolina.
