Thousands of contraband cigarettes seized at Cork airport
14,000 contraband cigarettes were seized at Cork Airport this afternoon.
Revenue officers arrested two Lithuanian men who had arrived on a flight from Tenerife , after a routine search revealed the cigarettes in their luggage.
The smuggled cigarettes, branded "Bravo" "BN" and "L&M Blue", have a retail value of more than €7,500.
The men, in their 30's, are being held at Togher Garda Station and will appear in Cork Districk Court tomrrow.
