Thousands of students sit state examinations across Cork
The first paper for both years is English Paper One.
13,000 students across the city and county have just emerged from their first state exam this year.
English Paper one was the exam for both Leaving and Junior cert pupils - many of whom can breath a sigh of relief until tomorrow.
Others however will now gear up to sit Home Economics and Scientific and Social exams this afternoon.
Junior Cert students meanwhile will face into English paper two at 2 o'clock.
Speaking to RedFM News these junior cert students say they were happy overall with the paper.
