Thousands raised for the family of East Cork man killed in Australia

Charlie McCarthy originally from Aghada was killed in Perth just before Christmas.

A Go Fund Me Page set up in a bid to raise funds for Charlie's wife and two kids has raised almost 60,000 Australian dollars.

The 32 year old was killed after he was attacked by a man with a screw driver.

The incident occurred on December 23rd when he and his wife Nicole were waiting for a taxi to return to their home in Perth.

He was rushed to hospital following the incident and put on life support after he sustained serious head injuries.

His family travelled from their home in Aghada to be by his side before his life support was turned off on St Stephen's Day.

All funds raised will go towards support his family during this time and for the future of his two young children.
