Three due in court over foiled armed robbery
Three men will appear in court this morning in connection with a foiled armed robbery in East Cork on Sunday night. It follows an attempt to break into the home of chip van owner, Pat Glavin, in Glounthane. Two men, aged 37 and 38 and from the city, were arrested at the scene and questioned at Cobh garda station and will appear before Anglesea District court this morning. A third man in his 40s, who was arrested in a followup search, is also due in court. Two other men arrested when gardai stopped a car in Glanmire village at around 1am on Monday morning were last night released without charge. Gardai will now prepare a file in relation to those men, who are aged 34 and 33 and from Ballincollig, for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
