Today Is 25th Anniversary Of Murder Of Crime Journalist Veronica Guerin

She was shot dead on the Naas dual carriageway in Dublin for her coverage of drug lords

Brian Meehan was the only person convicted of her murder - after John Gilligan was tried and cleared.

Former assistant garda commissioner, Dr Pat Leahy, says he is disappointed more people weren't found guilty:

"There was a huge level of effort put into it, but I don't think that the outcome was satisfactory for anybody involved, in particular the family. I think it would have been really good to bring that to a final conclusion, in a way that everybody that had been involved with that, would have been brought to justice. So yeah, I think it's one that everybody that was in the organisation at the time will look back and say,  it's one of the ones that we would have liked it to have been far more successful."
