Collins' Barracks Cork is the Venue for National Veterans Day.
Defence Force veterans will gather in Cork's Collins Barracks from 12 O Clock today to honour those who've served Ireland.
The Defence Minister will lead the ceremony in Cork later its the second time the country has marked the occasion. .
The day aims to honour and recognise the work that servicemen and women do - like those currently serving on the LÉ Niamh in the Mediterranean combating the migration crisis.
Ollie O'Connor head of the Organisation of the National Ex-servicemen and women says the day is a very welcome recognition:
