Cork is gearing up for a summer outdoors,
Dozens of public toilets are being installed at beaches ahead of the bank holiday weekend.
The Irish Examiner reports that Cork County Council is to install 16 portaloos at Crosshaven, Myrtleville, Church Bay, Fountainstown, Roberts Cover, Kil-na-gleary and Roberts Bridge and at the Peoples park in Carrigaline.
In the city new supervised toilets are to open at North main st shopping and at City Hall's Civic Offices.
Street cleaning crews will be working from 7am to 10pm.

The Ballintemple Area Residents Association say Cork GAA should not take the support of local residents for plans for seven concerts at Páirc Uí Chaoimh for granted.
The group says they are disapointed that the GAA wants to turn part of the Marina Park into parking for cars and buses.
BARA says the plans for the area close to the Atlantic Pond are 'negative' and say there are several brownfield sites along the Marina that could be used for parking.

SIPTU says it'll be engaging with Aer Lingus next week, after the airline announced plans for a pay freeze for workers until 2026.
New cabin crew staff's pay would start on around 23 thousand euro, a drop from almost 26 thousand, under the proposals.
Staff pension contributions would fall and sick pay would be cut to 13 weeks.\

A crisis meeting is taking place later today between health officials and public representatives in Limerick over a recent spike in Covid-19 cases.
The Chief Medical Officer's concerned about the 'significant increase' in cases of covid 19 in Limerick, with incidence of 411 per 100 thousand people.
