Senior government ministers will meet later to finalise the plan to further ease Covid-19 restrictions. 

The cabinet sub-committee will consider advice issued by NPHET, which met yesterday morning. 

Tomorrow the Taoiseach will announce plans for the resumption of live entertainment, indoor dining and international travel.

The government will begin phasing out pandemic support payments from October, according to the Tanaiste.

Leo Varadkar told his parliamentary party last night no changes are likely in the third quarter.

He said a plan for the fourth quarter will be outlined next week.

The HSE says staff will be paid today despite the cyber-attack - but there may be mistakes with the amounts they receive. 

It says basic pay and allowances will be paid as normal, but there may be issues with overtime and other extras. 

The executive says any problems will be fixed in the coming weeks.

Cork County Council has issued a warning on three beaches which have been tested and shown poor water quality with elevated levels of bacteria.

Water quality samples taken at Fountainstown, Garryvoe and Sandycove beaches showed levels that make them unsafe for bathing.
