Total Imports And Exports At The Port Of Cork Declined In 2019

The amount of goods shipped into Tivoli and Bantry Bay is down 7% compared to 2018, while goods leaving Cork are down 3%.
The amount of containers handled has increased by 5% to over 240,000, with the Port projecting their new €86 million terminal at Ringaskiddy will be able to handle up to 450,000 containers a year when it becomes operational.
Oil traffic decreased by 9% due to what the Port say was planned maintenance at the Whitegate Oil Refinery.
Meanwhile over 243,000 passengers called to Cork on 100 cruise liners last year.
Speaking to RedFM News, Chief Commercial Officer at the Port of Cork Conor Mowlds says the Port are planning for growth while keeping a close eye on Brexit:
