Traffic Cones, Food Waste, And Household Appliances Are Just Some Of The Items Being Dumped Into Cork Harbour

That's according to a new survey by Irish Business Against Litter

The survey has found the harbour to be heavily littered and among the worst areas surveyed in the country.

Blackrock Castle was also found to have heavy levels of plastic bottles, cans, and sweet wrappers.

Overall, only 16 percent of Ireland's coasts and waterways are clean.

A study of 42 areas across the country revealed that only 1 in 6 were deemed 'clean', while 14 percent were classed as 'littered' or 'heavily littered.'

The most common forms of litter found were food wrappers, plastic bottles, cans and cigarette butts.
