Traffic restrictions begin on Patrick Street

Private vehicles are not allowed on Patrick Street from 3:00 until 6.30pm.
Under a traffic system for the street the only traffic allowed on the city's main thoroughfare between these times will be public transport, taxis, cyclists and emergency vehicles.
All private vehicles are being re-routed along the quays amid calls at Council level for a review of the city's parking policy and charges in an effort to attract shoppers into town.
One of the key elements of the changes is the prioritisation of bus movements during busy periods.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM Alan Dukes of Dukes Coffee says he believes the new system will negatively impact on his business.
