Train commuters assured Kent Station is safe

Cork rail passengers are being assured that Kent Station is safe despite this afternoon's high winds and heavy rain. The extreme weather is being blamed for the partial roof collapse over Platforms 1 and 2 on Wednesday. The two platforms remain closed today and Irish Rail expect that they will be out of operation for up to three weeks to allow for a full examaination of the scene. Iarnród Éireann's Barry Kenny told Cork's RedFM that the station has been thoroughly assessed and it is safe, however they will be keeping a close eye on the weather: (Click above for audio)
