Transatlantic flights from Cork via Reykjavik have been suspended

It comes after just five months in operation

The low-cost flights launched in May offered a year round service and opened transatlantic opportunities from Cork to 12 North American destinations.

Wow Air announced last night it's to suspend the service from October with a decision on the future of the flights to be made at the end of the year.

The service is being suspended due to a low demand in flights and a number of scheduled flights from Cork in September and October have already been cancelled.

Speaking to RedFM News managing director of Cork Airport Neil McCarthy says it's a disappointment but Cork Airport will continue to grow this year.
