Transport Minister Urged To Intervene And Reduce Driving Test Waiting Times

New figures show there are just 13 testers at 4 driving test centres in Cork and Kerry
The figures obtained by Cork TD Aindrias Moynihan show the average waiting time for a test in Skibbereen is 18.8 weeks while learner drivers in Mallow face a wait of 17.4 weeks on average, while those seeking a test in the city are waiting 15.2 weeks.
The figures also show that there is just one permanent tester in Mallow and 7 in Cork however under RSA plans this will rise to 9...
The Road Safety Authority has recruited 52 new testers and say another 14 are undergoing training in order to deal with the backlog however Deputy Moynihan told RedFM News that he believes this will not be enough to deal with the backlog
