Treacherous working environment takes toll on nurses
INMO members are unable to give patients proper care by reason of overcrowding and severe delays in Emergency Departments
Irish nurses are working in a stressful and treacherous environment every day of the week.
That's according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation who say their members are unable to give the proper care to their patients, and their own health is suffering as a result.
Cork University Hospital experienced severe overcrowding this week, with patients receiving treatment on trolleys and chairs, and experiencing severe delays at the Emergency Department.
The INMO says the overcrowding results in a loss of dignity to patients who are being treated in public, and will only get worse as we move into the autumn/winter period.
Speaking to RedFM News Spokesperson with the INMO Mary Rose Carroll says their members are working under extreme stress.
