Tripling in reported cases of rape in Cork City

The head of the Sexual Violence Centre Cork says figures show that the new protective services unit is having an impact.
It emerged yesterday at a meeting of the Cork City Joint Policing Committee that the number of reported case of rape has jumped to 40 this year.
That number stood at 13 between January and November of 2016, and marks a 208% increase.
Speaking to RedFM News Mary Crilly of the Sexual Violence Centre Cork says she believes the new protective services unit in Anglesea St. is making a difference.
