An old True story is making its way to the big screen thanks to Cork funding.
Sgt Stubby: An Unlikely Hero follows the story of a US dog making his way up the army ranks during World War 1.
The idea to tell Stubby's story on screen came from businessman turned historical film-maker, Richard Lanni who has homes in both Cork and Normandy in France.
The true story will be shown in Irish cinemas for the first time this week thanks to investors in Cork who raised €3 million euro in funding, a figure that makes up 20 percent of the overall cost of the historical animated picture.
