Trump edges closer to the White House in US election thriller

Donald Trump's edging closer to becoming the next US President - after taking key battleground states.
The Republican candidate has defied the bookies, by securing crucial victories over rival Hillary Clinton in Florida, Ohio and North Carolina.
But the results from a handful of other states are still not in, and neither candidate's received enough votes yet to win the White House.
Even so, at the main Republican rally in New York, Trump's supporters have been chanting and hugging each other in celebration.
The election's also seen stocks tumbling on global markets - investors are spooked about what a Trump presidency might mean for the economy and trade.
Meanwhile Republicans have secured enough seats in the House of Representatives to continue their control of the chamber over the Democrats.
