Trump Hotels granted permission to build a wall in Clare

Clare County Council has granted permission for controversial coastal protection works at US President Donald Trump's resort in Doonbeg.
Trump Hotels in West Clare applied to the Local Authority for planning permission to develop a coastal erosion management wall at the resort and two new structures at dunes near the links course.
The hotel group claims the works are necessary to safeguard the resort's golf links from storm damage.
Planning permission has now been approved, but it's subject to appeal within 4 weeks of the decision date.
The Director of Friends of the Irish Environment Tony Lowes says they will appeal the decision.
