Tusla say they remain committed to improving the care and safeguarding of children in Cork

A recent inspection by HIQA found several areas of significant concern at the Cork child protection and welfare service.

A follow up inspection found all five standards assessed to be substantially compliant.

Inspectors said there was better governance and an improvement in the consistency of social work service.

They also noted a considerable improvement in the implementation and monitoring of child protection safety plans.

Tusla say they are aware they have further work to do in a number of care settings and say that improving quality is an ongoing process.
