Two men remanded in custody in relation to 6 burglaries
Two men have been remanded in custody after they appeared in court in relation to six burglaries in the City including one where an 83 year old woman was tricked into handing over €2,700
44 year old Anthony Horgan of no fixed abode was charged with nine offences relating to burglaries, a charge of possession of a knife, handling stolen property and a threat to cause criminal damage when he was being questioned by Gardaí.
27 year old Christopher Jones of no fixed abode was charged with taking part in six burglaries and handling stolen property.
The alleged burglaries took place on the 17th of April and included one incident where the men broke into the house of an 83 year old woman and claimed to be Gardaí investigating a burglary.
Judge John King remanded both men in custody until their next appearance in court next Wednesday.
