Two sentenced to life for Jonathan Duke murder in Bandon

Two people have been sentenced to life in prison for murdering a 27-year old father of one in Bandon. Catherine O'Connor and Ciprian Grozavu of Bridge House, Bandon were convicted after separate trials of the murder of Jonathan Duke in November 2011. They were both sentenced today at the Central Criminal Court in Cork. Jonathan Duke's body was found with more than 100 injuries after he was battered and stabbed before being dumped in the Bandon River. Gardai said it was difficult to establish a motive but drink played a part.
