UCC Highlights Food Waste
UCC is highlighting the amount of food wasted in Ireland every year. Research shows that one third of all food we buy is thrown out. UCC will attempt to give away 500 free meals to staff and students on campus this lunchtime. The meal will be a vegetarian curry made entirely out of surplus food which would otherwise go to waste. It's also hoped that the campaign will encourage students to change their attitude towards what they eat.
