UCC Module on Sexual Consent to be rolled out in September

It's hoped a new course on sexual consent and respect being trialed in UCC will eventually be rolled out to all incoming first year students.

The new module is being taken by 160 law students this year who are obliged to attend 50% of the classes. 

It follows comments by the outgoing Students Union Welfare Officer at the college who says that she dealt with a number of female students who had who had been assaulted and raped. 

Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM Katie Quinlan says she hopes the new course will give students a better understanding of sexual consent and respect:
