UCC policy on casual staff described as 'exploitative'

UCC is being urged to change its policy on employing staff on a casual basis
UCC are being urged to change their policy of employing teaching and research staff on a casual basis.
A Charter for Casual Workers in UCC was launched today by the Irish Federation of University Teachers in an effort to highlight the policy which they have described as "exploitative".
200 people in UCC are affected by the policy which the Federation says results in demotivated academic staff, problems with retention and poor teaching practice.
Speaking to RedFM News Mike Jennings of the Federation outlined what he hopes this campaign will achieve.
