UCC Recognised For Efforts To Reduce Harm To Students From Excessive Alcohol Consumption

University College Cork is among ten colleges being recognised today for their efforts to reduce harm experienced by students from excessive alcohol consumption.
The college was one of 15 third level institutions to sign up to UCC-led programme REACT in a bid to reduce the adverse consequences of excessive alcohol consumption.
As part of the programme colleges have introduced an online behavioural change tool on alcohol for incoming first-year students, and training of university staff to deliver screening and brief intervention therapy.
Speaking to RedFM News Director of REACT, UCC's Dr Michael Byrne says the programme has been successful:
