Under 21s set to benefit from Alcohol Bill says Cork publican

A Cork publican says students and those in their early 20s will benefit the most from the new Public Health (Alcohol) Bill. The new legislation will effectively put an end to the below-cost selling of alcohol products by introducing a minimum pricing unit. It's aimed at those who drink in a harmful manner and follows a recent UCC study which found that 65% of men and 67% of women drink to hazardous levels. AUDIO: Speaking to RedFM News Paul Montgomery of Reardens bar says publicans are governed by strict laws and the same control needs to be applied outside the pub setting if attitudes towards drinking are to change.
