UPDATE - Investigation underway following death of man in ambulance fire

Investigations are underway after a male patient died - and two ambulance personnel have been injured - following an ambulance fire in county Kildare this afternoon.
It happened at the entrance to the Emergency Department at Naas General Hospital at around 2pm.
A male patient - who was in the ambulance at the time of the fire - was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two ambulance staff also received injuries. One has since been discharged from Naas General hospital while the second has been transferred to St.James's hospital in Dublin for treatment.
The area has been sealed off and the emergency department at Naas General Hospital has been temporarily closed.
