Varadkar says there won't be a change to Monday's date for opening up outdoor dining and drinking

It follows the crowded scenes in Cork, Dublin and Galway over the weekend

Dublin City Council will meet with stakeholders this week to see if additional measures are needed, in the wake of the unplanned public gathering in the city.

There are concerns similar scenes could occur over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Tanáiste Leo Varadkar says there won't be a change to Monday's date for opening up outdoor dining and drinking:

"The decision is one day and that that's what's gonna happen. That's the Cabinet's decision on national you know we did toy with that possibility, we're not going to change it now, it does appear that the weather is not going to be so nice this weekend. Fortunately, that's probably a good thing in terms of people congregating outside. We know I would say this though, you know, I didn't like to see the scenes that we saw so many industries. The other day, or some of the problems that they see in a car card, isolate part of the plaza. But we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that we are actually encouraging people to be outdoors."
