Vera Twomey Considers Splitting Family Between Countries To Continue Treatment for Ava

A Cork woman who has traveled to Holland seeking medicinal cannabis treatment for her daughter says she'll have to split up her family in the coming weeks.
Vera Twomey's seven-year-old daughter Ava suffers from a severe form of epilepsy and her family say as a result of the medicinal cannabis oil she's currently receiving in Holland she has been seizure-free for the last eight days.
The Aghabulloge woman walked from Cork to the Dáil as part of her campaign for medicinal cannabis legislation and despite her efforts to obtain a special exemption for Ava her application was denied.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM Vera says she'll have to consider staying alone with Ava in September as the situation is taking its toll on the whole family:
