Vera Twomey To Seek Treatment Abroad For Daughter Ava

A Cork woman who has been campaigning for medicinal cannabis for her daughter says she has no choice but to seek treatment abroad.
Vera Twomey's seven-year-old daughter Ava suffers from a rare form of epilepsy and the Aghabullog woman claims she needs CBD cannabis oil to treat her condition.
The family will now travel abroad to establish clinical evidence to show that Ava's condition has improved with the drug and it's hoped a license for the cannabis oil will be granted via ministerial exemption if they obtain the evidence abroad.
Speaking to RedFM News Vera says even though she's going abroad for treatment she's not giving up on the campaign to legalise medicinal cannabis in Ireland:
