Prince Charles is addressing a civic reception being held in his honour by the City's Lord Mayor at City Hall this lunchtime.

Addressing the 150 invited guests the Prince outlined how he has heard a lot about how Cork is Ireland's real capital and he revealed that his mother the Queen told him he had to visit the English Market while in the city

Earlier the Tánaiste led the Prince and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall on a guided tour of the market where they stopped and chatted to a number of traders and posed for photographs...

They unveiled a solid brass plaque to commemorate their visit before being presented with a selection of fresh produce from the English Market to enjoy.

They arrived at City Hall over an hour ago where they were greeted by the Lord Mayor and his wife and the Band of the Southern Command played the Boys of Fairhill as they walked up the steps to be greeted by the City Council's Chief Executive Ann Doherty

Meanwhile, it's back to business as usual at the English Market this afternoon...

Speaking to RedFM News, fishmonger at the Market Pat O'Connell revealed what the Queen told Prince Charles before he came to Cork
