Warning issued ahead of St. Patrick's Day festivities

Don't drink and drive - that's the message from the Gardai and the Road Safety Authority ahead of the St Patrick's Day festivities.
Motorists are warned that Gardai will be operating extra mandatory alcohol checkpoints over the next few days and they will also be focusing on speed and the non wearing of seat belts.
4 people lost their lives on Irish roads over the same period last year and as a result the Road Safety Authority is urging people to think twice before taking a drink and then taking to the roads.
The RSA is advising people to leave their car at home and plan their journey home by organising a designated driver or booking a taxi.
Speaking to RedFM News the RSA's Brian Farrell says motorists need to remember that they could be over the limit the morning after.
